Essex Cup Netball
Rules and Regulations 2011/12

  1. AENA rules apply
  2. All matches must be played by the set date. If for exceptional reasons they are not the home team must inform Sam Blair.
  3. In the instance that a team fails to fulfil a fixture on more than one occasion the opposition team will be awarded a walkover to the next round.
  4. The top named teamed on the draw are the home team.
  5. The home team is responsible for making contact to arrange the fixture.
  6. The winning team must fax, phone, e-mail or post the result to S Blair as soon as possible.
  7. The Year 7 results must all be in before the stated date. Any results not in will be void. Both teams are responsible for notifying S Blair of the Year 7 results.
  8. The winner and runner up of each group will go through to second round in Year 7 and U19, then it becomes a knockout competition. In the U19 league the top 2 third placed teams will also qualify. This will be worked out on an average of points v games played, not just points due to odd group numbers.
  9. There is a plate competition for schools knocked out in the first round of the U14 and U16 draw. The finals of this competition will also be played at Gloucester Park, Basildon, date 27th March.
  10. Points for Year 7 and U19: 5 points for a win, 3 for a draw, 2 for losing but gaining half the winning score, 1 point for playing the game and losing by more than half. This is to encourage teams to play all their matches.
  11. Each match will be 4 quarters of 10 minutes.
  12. Each team must provide an umpire for every match.
  13. The final will be played at a Gloucester Park, Basildon date March 26th, unless this clashes with other commitments in which case the two teams must organise another date.
  14. Neutral C award qualified umpires need to be provided for the semi final games by each team involved, or suitably qualified umpires if agreed by both teams. Please contact June Snelling who will co-ordinate this
  15. Neutral C award umpires will be asked to umpire the final which the finalists must organise, however they will be paid £10 by S Blair for their time. Please contact June Snelling who will co-ordinate this.
  16. The winning team is responsible for engraving their name on the cup, and returning it to Drapers Academy before the final the next year unless they are playing in it.
  17. In the event of a draw at full time, a further two halves of 5 mins should be played. If the score is still a draw then golden goal is to be played starting from a toss of a coin for centre.

Red denotes new or amended rules this year.
